VERGE FLASHINGS are used on the side edges of the roof that end at the building’s gable walls. Their primary function is to protect these edges from atmospheric factors such as wind and rain. These flashings secure the roof against the lifting of the covering by the wind and leaks along the side edges. VERGE FLASHINGS are usually made of steel sheet matched to the color and style of the roof covering. In addition to their protective function, VERGE FLASHINGS provide an aesthetic finish to the side edges of the roof, often integrated with facade elements.
Hemmed barge flashing is part of verge flashings installed on the side edge of the roof. Its universal nature allows for use with all types of roof coverings: from roof tiles through trapezoidal sheets as well as standing seam roof panels.
