Mineral wool is used in the construction of facilities for many industries: industry, trade or public utility, as well as in single-family housing and households – wherever insulation of external walls, partition walls or attics is necessary. Among the wide range of sandwich panels with a wool core in the Blachy Pruszyński offer, the WOOLTECH Acoustic wall panel is available, i.e. a sandwich panel with a mineral wool core with increased sound absorption parameters. The materials used in it are mineral wool from top producers and sheet metal claddings in a protective coating, which are additionally perforated. It is worth emphasizing that this is a second-generation wool sandwich panel, produced on the most modern production line in the country and this part of Europe.
The popularity of mineral wool in light industrial construction results from its excellent parameters – it is a non-flammable, vapor-permeable and sound-absorbing material, and at the same time it is characterized by high resistance to mold and fungi.

  • Wall sandwich panels with a mineral wool core consist of two steel sheet claddings and a structural-insulation core. The outer claddings of the panels are made of steel sheets with thicknesses from 0.5 mm, covered with metallic and organic coatings.
  • The claddings are joined to the core during the production cycle using a two-component polyurethane adhesive.
  • “PRUSZYŃSKI” sandwich panels are manufactured according to the latest technology. A modern, fully automated production line and highly qualified staff allow us to fully meet all customer expectations regarding the quality and highest standards of the products offered.
  • The core of PWS2-MW panels is mineral wool with a density of 115 kg/m3, and for PWS2-MW Eco (“economy”) panels, the density is 80 kg/m3
  • A new addition to the sandwich panel family is the hidden joint panels, PWS2-MW-PL, as well as roof panels – PWD2-MW. Our range is completed by acoustic sandwich panels PWS2-MWA-ST, which feature significantly higher sound insulation parameters.

What are wool wool wall (PWS2-MWA-ST)?

The acoustic wall panel is a sandwich panel with a mineral wool core, known for its high thermal and insulation properties. In the case of the Blachy Pruszyński offer, similar to other 2nd generation sandwich panels, the acoustic panel is constructed of two layers of steel sheet claddings and a structural-insulation core made of mineral wool with a density of 115 kg/m3. The external claddings are made of 0.5 mm thick steel sheet, covered with metallic and organic coatings characterized by high resistance to atmospheric factors, rust, or mechanical damage. The introduction of the perforation process during production has significantly improved the sound absorption parameters of the wall panel, making it an excellent product for soundproofing rooms; these features are possessed by the modern acoustic sandwich panel from the Blachy Pruszyński brand, offered under the name PWS2-MWA-ST.

The cladding with the core is connected in the production cycle with two -component polyurethane glue. Connecting inside the plate is milled, thanks to which they are metal, which increases the stiffness of the plate, and significantly increases thermal insulation.

The second category consists of modern wall panels with enhanced acoustic insulation parameters (PWS2-MWA-ST), which result from the appropriate combination of specially developed perforation of the internal cladding and the physical properties of the core (mineral wool). Second-generation WOOLTECH Acoustic mineral wool panels are characterized by very good sound absorption coefficient ($\alpha_w$) properties – it is 0.65 for all variants of our panels. Additionally, the sound insulation indices of all our panel variants successfully meet the latest standard in this series from October 2015, designated as PN-B-02151-3:2015-10, achieving the following minimums:

  • Rw = 31 dB
  • RA1 = 29 dB
  • RA2 = 27 dB

This product is therefore ideal for the construction of buildings whose purpose involves noise production inside, as well as for securing rooms that require dampening of noise, echoes, or vibrations.

Unlike other wall panels, in the production of perforated panels, PRUSZYŃSKI uses a different grade of adhesive specially adapted for perforated panels, which is applied at the junction of the two metal claddings and the mineral wool core. This procedure compensates for slight changes in load-bearing capacity parameters. Therefore, the installation location of acoustic panels should result from structural calculations and be specified by the architect.

Furthermore, the acoustic sandwich panel in our offer is available in two variants: with a visible joint and a hidden joint, which is best suited where the investor prioritizes an aesthetic effect. As with standard PRUSZYŃSKI wall panels, you can choose the external profiling of the metal cladding (trapezoid, micro-trapezoid, wave, nano-wave, or flat) and the type of coating (polyester gloss/mat, polyurethane, HPS200, aluzinc).

Acoustic wall sandwich panels with a mineral wool core are suitable for various types of structures, and their fast and simple installation is enabled by matching through-fasteners. PWS2-MWA-ST sandwich panels can be installed on steel or concrete substrates. They are connected to the steel structure using appropriate self-drilling fasteners. In particular, these should be fasteners designed for fixing panels to structures with a maximum wall thickness of 14 mm, equipped with vulcanized EPDM washers. The working thread diameter is 5.5 mm.

In the case of steel structures with a thickness exceeding 14 mm and concrete structures, it is possible to use other fasteners:

  • For steel substrates (over 14 mm thickness): special self-tapping fasteners with a appropriately shaped working thread profile are recommended.
  • For concrete substrates: it is worth using special fasteners with an expansion element or self-tapping fasteners with a specially shaped working thread

The installation of panels requires the use of specialized power tools, i.e., a screwdriver with a special head allowing for proper guidance of the fastener and a screw-in depth limiter. The clamping force of the fastener should be selected in such a way as not to deform the washer.

Dimensions of PWS2-MWA-ST

In the case of wool layered plates, the designer must take into account the temperature differences between layered panels. Temperature gradients resulting from the temperature difference between external temperature and internal temperature depend on, among others

  • the purpose of the facility
  • facility location (location relative to the sun)
  • The color of the outer cladding.

The table below shows the permissible length of plates depending on the colour of the cladding, assuming a minimum length of 2.5 MB for single -span systems. The maximum length of the plate is 18 MB, but it depends on the color chosen.
