A trapezoidal ridge is a common type of ridge flash used in roof finishing. It is installed at the top of the roof, where two roof slopes meet.
Ridge flashings are a type of roof gable trim. Roofers also very often refer to them as “ridge tiles.” The main purpose of these flashings is to protect the junction where two roof slopes with opposite pitches meet at the roof ridge. Ridge caps prevent rainwater from seeping beneath the roof surface, provide ventilation, and significantly enhance the roof’s aesthetic appeal.
