Plain Ridge is a typical flashing used in roof finishing. It is installed at the top of the roof, where two roof slopes meet.
The ridge is a type of roof ridge flash. Roofers also very often refer to it asa“ridge tile.“ The main purpose of these flashings is to protect the junction where two roof slopes with opposite pitches meet, at the point where the roof ridge is located and the slopes converge. Ridge caps prevent rainwater from seeping beneath the roof surface, provide ventilation, and significantly enhance the roof’s aesthetic appeal. It is primarily a protective element installed on the highest edge of the roof slope—the point where two opposing slopes meet.
