NEWA ventilation flashing designed for installation under the ridge is a key element for the proper functioning of the roof. Dedicated to flat roof tiles from our offer: VERONA, PŁASKA, PŁASKA PLUS, and REGLE. The product is available in a standard length of 2.0 m.

VENTILATION FLASHINGS play an extremely important role in ensuring the long-term and trouble-free use of the roof. They are responsible for the correct ventilation of the roof slope, i.e., the free flow of air under the covering, thanks to which the covering naturally gets rid of moisture that accumulates on the inner side of the covering and, as a result of the condensation phenomenon, turns into water and moisture. In the long term, this moisture causes irreversible damage both to the roof framing and can also cause damage to the covering itself.
An under-ridge strip (or colloquially a ridge cap strip) for flat roof tiles is a special flashing dedicated to the installation of flat roof tiles, VERONA, PŁASKA, PŁASKA PLUS, and REGLE. Due to their low profile, the dedicated under-ridge strip has also been lowered, which has a very large impact on the appearance of the roof slope. Thanks to this construction, the ridge flashings fit much closer to the roof covering and do not stick out, which translates into a clear improvement in the roof’s aesthetics.
The new strip also features a newly designed perforation pattern, ensuring optimal air flow (see technical spec.) while simultaneously ensuring condensate drainage. Finally, its design provides optimal stiffness and stability for the ridge flashing assembly despite the lowered structure (a special double “fold”). For other modular roof tiles, an under-ridge strip is not used, and its role is replaced by a ridge tape. We offer the under-ridge strip for flat roof tiles in only one length – 2.0 m.

Vented profiled ridge comb for trapezoidal sheets
Vented profiled eaves comb for trapezoidal sheetsWe offer three types of under-ridge strips. All of them perform the same function but are tailored to different roof coverings. Their tasks are:
1. **Provide properly functioning ventilation** thanks to ventilation openings of the appropriate surface area – the outlet ventilation gap should have an effective area four times smaller than the inlet gap, measured per one side of the roof slope – in accordance with the DIN 4108 standard; min. 50 cm²/lm. This solution ensures the appropriate pressure difference that forces increased air movement under the roofing metal sheets.
2. **Ensure tightness** – acting as a barrier against loose snow and light rain blown under the ridge flashings (the so-called ridge cap).
3. **Act as a load-bearing element for ridge flashing assembly** – the strip should be mounted to the roof covering using stitch screws on both sides of the roof slope in a straight line. Using the same screws (stitch screws) in a color matched to the color of the roof covering, the ridge flashings must be installed. It is also recommended to use ridge tapes with mesh to ensure the highest level of protection regarding tightness, especially in the case of hip ridges.
