Haftra - Uchwyt mocujący do panelu Karo

Haftra - Mounting bracket for the Karo panel

Product description

Karo roof panels – starting

Made of coated sheet, it is an excellent choice for all those who want their roof to look original. They are installed on roofs with full boarding on the so-called embroidery. The interesting shape of this covering guarantees that the entire building will gain a unique character.

Karo panels also look great as part of the composition – as a chimney housing or as a facade covering (e.g. dormer housing). Starter panels facilitate assembly and elegant edge finish. Thanks to the precise performance, they easily connect to the main panels. Each size of the Karo panel in the Pruszyński offer has a suitable dimension.

Technical specification

General information

Karo embroidery, or the mounting handle, is part of the Karo panel system, improving and facilitating assembly work. It is precisely adapted to the main elements, which not only accelerates roofing works, but also ensures the stability of the entire solution.

Hafts in the Karo system are available in the same coatings as the main and starting panels.

Recommendations

Transport and storage

  • In the case of receiving its own means of transport, the car should have an open loading platform for free loading and unloading.
  • On the construction site, panels should be stored in the factory packaging, under the roof. Storage in such conditions should not last longer than 3 weeks from the date of production. After this time, the packaging should be cut, and the sheets should be transferred to spacers enabling free air circulation. The maximum storage time should not be longer than 6 months from the date of production under pain of losing the warranty.
  • Protective films are used to additionally protect coated sheets against mechanical damage, stresses and impacts that can occur during transport, transhipment or profiling. Protective films never release from the obligation to properly protect sheets during storage or against the harmful effects of chemical factors during the processing process. It is recommended to gradually remove foil from ready profiles, an element by element, before attaching wall and roof elements on the building. The protective film from the surface of the sheet should take place within three weeks of the date of production of the sheet if the goods are stored in the right way, i.e. with a positive temperature, lack of high humidity, without direct sunlight. Lack of preserving the appropriate storage conditions of the goods may reduce the time of removing the foil to three days from the date of delivery of the goods.
  • Incorrect storage method can cause difficulties in removing protective film and leave glue marks on the sheets.

Washing and maintenance

  • In order to extend the durability period of roofs and facades made of coated sheets, they should be regularly controlled and preserved.
  • Review -once a year (preferably in spring), a roof/facade review should be reviewed to detect any damage early.
  • Cleaning sheet metal -roofs/facades made of coated sheet require cleaning at least once a year. Driving dirt can cause uneven discoloration of the color (result of uneven UV interaction), as well as to reduce corrosion resistance (dirt stops moisture on a baking tray gradually damaging it). Dodged and stained places can be cleaned with a soft brush and water (max. 60 ° C). If it is necessary, it is allowed to add a mild detergent to the water (pH 6 ÷ 7, max. 10% solution). Water under pressure (max. 100 bar) can also be used for cleaning, however, the water stream cannot be used too close to the surface of the sheet (min. 30 cm), and it cannot be directed perpendicular to the surface. At the connectors, the water stream should be directed down to avoid entering the water under pressure into the gaps around the connectors. With old coatings, you should handle with exceptional caution. Washing should be carried out from top down and always cleaned place should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
  • Do not use scrubbing powders, nitro solvents, chloride solutions, aromatic agents, as well as salmiak (ammonium chloride) or sodium salts.
  • Damage -repairing any damage during the warranty period should be consulted with the roof/facade contractor and can only be performed with its approval. Repair of damage on small surfaces is carried out with the help of repair varnishes, drying in the air. Painting large surfaces is, as a rule, only using special industrial paints adapted to renovation of coverings. The surface for painting should be limited only to the places requiring (scratches to the metal layer, corrosion focus, etc.). Preparation of the surface for painting should be made according to generally accepted rules. Always remove all traces of corrosion – preferably with special brushes or fine -grained sandpaper. Then the repaired surface needs to be thoroughly reproduced, degreased and cleaned. For degreasing the surface, you can use extraction gasoline or water with the addition of surface-leisure (preferably with the addition of 1-2% of the ammonia solution). The repaired zones can show color differences compared to the original colors of sheet metal due to the natural impact of atmospheric phenomena (aging of varnish under the influence of UV radiation).
  • Do not use organically coated steel sheets in:
    • environment with constant contact with water with a high degree of salinity,
    • contact with construction chemistry, including concrete, plaster, wet wood, etc.,
    • in an environment exposed to aggressive chemicals
    • combined with materials with a different electrochemical potential
  • Note- during review, cleaning, maintenance and repair, it is absolutely necessary to comply with health and safety rules.

Do you have questions?

Is it possible to make copper machining at the steel roof?
When using copper, be careful because copper oxides are very aggressive and cause corrosion of other metals. Therefore, on buildings, it cannot be combined with other metal species (copper enters into contact and causes electrolytic corrosion of other metals).
Why is the metal roofing sheets recommended for the renovation of old roofs?
This is directly related to its low weight. In the case of old roofs, the trusses of the renovated houses are often somewhat damaged by time. Therefore, it is safer to use a metal roofing tile, which weight oscillates at 4.7 kg/m2, than almost ten times a heavier ceramic tile than it. However, it is always worth verifying the condition of the roof truss, with a specialist and make sure that it does not require renovation or replacement. In such cases, the safety of residents or building employees, as well as the assembly team, is always a priority. In most situations, however, the condition of the structure without major problems allows the use of roof tiles, while the use of ceramic tile would not be possible.
Can you use an angle grinder when cutting sheets?
Modern roofing exclude the use of angle grinders for cutting. The use of this method of cutting the material is associated with the loss of warranty. The angle grinder during operation and cutting produces very large amounts of heat, which in turn damages the edges of the sheet, as well as the coating covering it. In addition, the filings extracting during operation blend into the surface of the blades, additionally creating potential corrosion outbreaks. The right way of cutting sheet metal is to use automatic jumps (so -called Nilerler) or hand scissors. They use the mechanical force to cut the sheet, without exposing it to high temperature jumps. In addition, it is worth remembering that after cutting it is good to train cut places with dedicated protective varnish or special paint.
Does the roof require maintenance?
Yes, each roof requires periodic inspections to check if there have been any damage. Most of the products offered by Blachy Pruszyński have various types of specialized coatings available (covered by the warranty), increasing the life and durability of sheet metal. Maintenance consists mainly in removing the deposits and chimney dust, which left for a longer period of time can lead to sheet metal damage. Particular attention should be paid to places around chimneys that are sensitive due to more demanding operating conditions. If during the coverage inspection, local damage to the paint coating will be noticed, paint corrections should be made. In such a situation, the best solution is to use dedicated gloss paints tailored to a given coating. Such paints are in a stringent offer of Pruszyńska sheet and it is strongly recommended to use company products, recommended for a given coating.
How to register and how does the warranty work?
In order to register the warranty, download the warranty registration available in files for download / printing or directly: Warranty registration and send it completed to the following address: guarantee@pruszynski.euThe warranty begins to apply on the day of purchase of the goods. Registration of warranty is necessary to quickly identify the purchased batch of goods.
How can you complain the product, where is the information?
Complaints should be submitted in a warehouse in which the purchase was made. In the event that the wholesaler has been closed (does not run a business), the filled print of the complaint application should be sent directly to Pruszyński Sp. z o.o. to: pruszynski@pruszynski.eu

Printing of the complaint application is available in files for download / prints or directly here: Complaints
