PlusLiga 2025/2026: Thrilling Semifinals – Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin Move Closer to the Final

Plus Liga, półfinały, 2025/2026

A new chapter in PlusLiga history is unfolding before our eyes, and the 2025/2026 semifinals are only ramping up the pace of this story. In Zawiercie and Warsaw, fans were treated to two completely different matches, but with one thing in common—intense excitement and the feeling that the stakes are higher than just advancing to the finals. There’s more at stake here: proving one’s strength, breaking the mold, and securing a spot in a season that could reshape the balance of power in Polish volleyball.

The first semifinal match confirmed that Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie feels exceptionally confident at home. The 3-0 victory over Asseco Resovia Rzeszów seems like a foregone conclusion, but the match itself had moments when the visitors were able to stand up to the favorite. However, the details proved crucial—effectiveness on the counterattack, the quality of the block, and consistency in the closing stages. Resovia had its chances but couldn’t capitalize on them, while Zawiercie only solidified its control over the match with each successive play. The home team displayed composure and maturity, qualities that often matter more than sheer attacking power in the playoffs.

The match in Warsaw, where PGE Projekt hosted BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, produced even more comebacks. The first set went the hosts’ way (27–25), but then the game took a complete turn. Lublin played more boldly, more aggressively, and above all, more consistently, turning the match around and winning 3:1 in sets. This was no fluke—the defending champions showed themselves to be a team that doesn’t crack under pressure and can adapt to the conditions imposed by their opponent. At key moments, they displayed greater confidence in their serves and better emotional control, which at this level often makes all the difference.

The broader picture of this phase of the season is also becoming increasingly clear. The semifinals are no longer just a sporting competition—they’re becoming a full-fledged spectacle that draws crowds. More than half a million fans in the stands throughout the season is a sign that PlusLiga not only maintains a high level of athletic competition but is also growing as a product. The atmosphere in the arenas, the packed stands, and the ever-increasing interest mean that every match today carries the weight of a major event.

The rematches are coming up, and they could completely change the narrative of this series. Resovia and Projekt are returning to their home courts with a clear goal—to turn the series around and keep their dreams of reaching the finals alive. Zawiercie and Lublin, on the other hand, are one step away from closing out the semifinals and confirming that they are the ones setting the pace in the league today. The outcome is still far from decided, and every set could tip the scales in a completely different direction.

This is the point in the season when the standings and regular-season statistics no longer matter. What counts is the here and now—how well a team plays on any given day, its mental toughness, and its ability to perform under pressure. And there will certainly be no shortage of that in the coming days.

The first semifinal matches, played on April 12–13, confirmed the strength of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin. The next matches will take place on April 18, 2026: Asseco Resovia Rzeszów vs. Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (3:00 p.m.) and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin vs. PGE Projekt Warszawa (6:00 p.m.). Since the series is played to two wins, anything is still possible for both pairs—a single loss does not decide the outcome of the semifinal, and the rematches on April 18 could completely change the course of the battle for the final.

The Plus Liga season is organized with the support of Blachy Pruszyński Company, which has been consistently committed to the development of Polish volleyball for years as part of its long-term strategy. The company has been supporting the sport for many years, building a stable partnership based on continuity, responsibility, and the shared development of the sport.
