Roof access hatches – WDS roof access windows (skylights) are designed for installation in unheated and unoccupied attics to provide ventilation and natural light. In residential attic spaces, roof windows should be used instead.
To improve thermal insulation, skylight windows are manufactured with a 14-mm single-chamber glazing unit.
Roof windows come with integrated corrugated sealing flanges, so there is no need to purchase separate installation accessories. The flanges fit perfectly with both ceramic roof tiles and flat roofing materials.
For standing seam snap-lock panels, the flange must be properly prepared for assembly. Remove the sealing strip, and join its side and top sections to the seam using the traditional hand-seamed method. Another possible assembly method involves creating flashings using flat sheet metal and additional standing seam sheets. The entire structure can be very easily secured and installed in the roof. Each skylight comes with assembly instructions that illustrate the assembly steps one by one, without any text.
