The 2025–2026 season of the TAURON League ended with one of the most anticipated outcomes in recent years. PGE Budowlani Łódź claimed the Polish championship by winning the final, marking the club’s first such achievement in its history.
The gold medals went to the volleyball players from Łódź, who demonstrated great sportsmanship and consistency in executing their tactical plans during the decisive phase of the competition. The team maintained a high level of performance at a crucial moment in the season, and in the playoffs, they stood out for their well-organized play, effectiveness on the counterattack, and composure in the closing moments of sets. It was precisely this stability and mental resilience that proved to be one of the main pillars of their championship success.
The road to the championship, though ultimately successful, was incredibly dramatic. The final series wasn’t decided until the fifth game—the “best-of-five” format meant that a fierce battle between the league’s top two teams lasted for nearly two weeks in April.

In the decisive final match of the TAURON Volleyball League, the PGE Budowlani Łódź women’s volleyball team defeated DevelopRes Rzeszów on the road and claimed the club’s first-ever Polish championship. The match took place on April 29 in Rzeszów at the Podpromie Arena, which hosted over 4,000 fans. The atmosphere was tense—Defending champions DevelopRes were counting on the support of their home crowd, but the Łódź team arrived as a motivated squad ready to pull off an upset.
Another key part of the season was the Polish Cup, in which the Łódź team confirmed their strong form by winning the trophy and building solid confidence ahead of the most important part of the season. This success clearly strengthened the team and provided a significant boost in the race for the national championship.
The season was also rich in individual stories of players who, on many occasions, took responsibility for their teams’ results. Both young players, who consistently built their standing in the league, and more experienced leaders, who stabilized the game during the toughest moments of matches, stood out. This combination of fresh energy and experience raised the overall level of competition.
