Bogdanka LUK Lublin’s Historic Triumph in the Polish Cup Final

Tauron Puchar Polski 2026

Krakow has once again proven that it is one of the most important destinations on Poland’s volleyball map. The TAURON Polish Cup Final Tournament, held on January 10–11, 2026, at TAURON Arena, attracted fans from across the country and transformed the city into a true hub of sporting excitement. For two days, the stands were filled with fans of the four top teams, and the atmosphere, as highlighted in reports, was on par with the country’s biggest volleyball events.

The first day of the tournament was marked by the semifinal matches, which provided fans with plenty of sporting drama. The match between Bogdanka LUK Lublin and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn was particularly thrilling. The match wasn’t decided until the fifth set (3–2) and served as a showcase of the character and determination of the Lublin team, which earned a spot in the final after a fierce, point-for-point battle. Kewin Sasak was the hero of the match, scoring an impressive 24 points. The second semifinal, in which Asseco Resovia Rzeszów faced off against PGE Projekt Warszawa, was a more one-sided affair (3–0 for Resovia). The Rzeszów team displayed solid and organized play, confidently securing their spot in the tournament’s decisive match.

The TAURON Polish Cup Final was the culmination of Kraków’s volleyball festival and, at the same time, the highlight of the entire event. From the very first points, Bogdanka LUK Lublin dictated the pace of the game and consistently executed its tactical plan. A 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-20, 25–20) over Asseco Resovia Rzeszów sealed the club’s first-ever triumph in the Polish Cup, a victory that will long remain in the memories of the players and fans of the Lublin team.

The final was a showcase of teamwork, efficiency, and composure at key moments. Wilfredo Leon was the top scorer of the final, with 15 points. Kewin Sasak (12 points) and Jackson Young (11 points) also stood out. Kewin Sasak was named the MVP of the final, having performed at the highest level throughout the tournament. For coach Stephane Antiga, this is a remarkable achievement —he had previously won the Polish Cup as both a player and coach of the DevelopRes Rzeszów women’s team, and has now completed the set as the coach of the men’s team as well.

As highlighted in the reports, the final tournament in Kraków was not only a sporting competition but also a unique event featuring thousands of fans who had traveled in large numbers from various regions of Poland. The packed stands at TAURON Arena, the loud cheering, and the shared excitement of the volleyball action created an atmosphere that perfectly illustrates the popularity of this sport in our country. The experience was rounded out by video footage and reports capturing the energy of the event and the behind-the-scenes action of top-level competition.

For the Blachy Pruszyński Company, such events have a much broader significance than just sports. For many years, we have supported Polish volleyball by getting involved in initiatives that bring local communities together and promote values central to both sports and responsible business—cooperation, commitment, and building long-term relationships. Our presence at nationwide events, such as the TAURON Polish Cup finals, is part of our approach to CSR, which we understand as active participation in projects that are socially and culturally significant.

The tournament in Kraków once again confirmed that Polish volleyball can combine a high level of competition with an exceptional atmosphere in the stands. Bogdanka LUK Lublin’s historic success, the thrilling semifinals, and the immense interest from fans made the TAURON Polish Cup finals an event that will long remain in the memories of all participants—both on and off the court.
