2026 Volleyball Hall of Fame in Katowice – 20 Years of Partnership Between Blachy Pruszyński and Polish Volleyball

Aleja Gwiazd Siatkówki 2026

In 2026, the Volleyball Hall of Fame in Katowice once again became one of the highlights of the Polish men’s national team’s season opener. The event, held on Korfantego Avenue near Spodek, once again brought together the history of Polish volleyball with its contemporary dimension, creating a space where the sport’s heritage intersected with the national team’s current activities.

The Volleyball Walk of Fame project, launched in 2017 by the Polish Volleyball Federation and the city of Katowice, was unique from the very beginning. Its goal was to honor the players, coaches, teams, and partners who, at various times, contributed to the success of Polish volleyball. Its location at Spodek gave the project a symbolic dimension, linking it to a venue historically associated with the biggest volleyball events in Poland.

Over the years, many outstanding figures in Polish volleyball have been honored on the Walk of Fame. Among them were Bartosz Kurek, Mariusz Wlazły, Michał Kubiak, Paweł Zatorski, Fabian Drzyzga, Piotr Nowakowski, Marcin Możdżonek, Andrzej Wrona, and Paweł Zagumny. Women’s volleyball players have also been honored, including Małgorzata Glinka and Dorota Świeniewicz, as well as coaches and national team selectors. An important element of the Avenue are also the commemorative plaques, which mark key events in the history of the sport and highlight the significance of Katowice’s Spodek as one of its most important arenas.

The 2026 edition of the Volleyball Walk of Fame took place as part of the opening of the Polish men’s national team’s season. In the days leading up to and during the event, friendly matches were played in Sosnowiec and Katowice, drawing crowds to Spodek and serving as the first serious test for the team led by Nikola Grbic ahead of the Nations League and the European Championships.

One of the highlights of this year’s event was the unveiling of a plaque commemorating 20 years of partnership between Blachy Pruszyński and Polish Volleyball. The symbolic unveiling served as a testament to this long-standing partnership, in which the brand has served as one of the key sponsors of Polish volleyball, consistently supporting its development and helping it build a strong position in the sports world. The plaque was unveiled by Krzysztof Pruszyński, President of Pruszyński sp. z o.o., lending the event a personal touch and highlighting the company’s direct involvement in the project.

As part of the 2026 edition, a commemorative plaque honoring the gold medalists of the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal was also unveiled. The 50th anniversary of this success became one of the most important highlights of this year’s Walk of Fame, serving as a reminder of the historical foundations of Polish volleyball and its greatest achievements.

Since its inception, the Volleyball Hall of Fame has served as a space that brings together different generations of Polish volleyball players and coaches. It honors both players from the national team’s golden era and members of the current squad who have contributed to the sport’s greatest achievements.

The 2026 edition confirmed that the event has secured a permanent place on the Polish volleyball calendar. The combination of historical elements, the presence of the Polish national team, and accompanying events ensures that Aleja remains an integral part of the opening of every new national team season.

Katowice, with Spodek as the focal point of events, remains one of the most important centers of Polish volleyball, where history, the present, and the excitement surrounding the national team regularly converge.

Blacha Pruszyński’s commitment to Polish volleyball has been long-standing and consistent. We have already written about the brand’s role as one of the sport’s key sponsors and its consistent support for the Polish national team in articles dedicated to this long-standing partnership, highlighting both its athletic and image-building dimensions. More on this topic can be found in the publications “ “We have been supporting Polish volleyball for years — Blachy Pruszyński”and “Pruszyński: Supporting Polish Volleyball for 16 Years,”which demonstrate the brand’s ongoing commitment to the development of volleyball in Poland.
