General information

Our offer includes three types of under-ridge strips. They all perform the same function but are adapted to different roof coverings. Their purpose is to:

1. Ensure properly functioning ventilation thanks to ventilation openings with an appropriate surface area – the outlet ventilation gap should have an effective area four times smaller than the inlet, measured per one side of the roof slope – in accordance with the DIN 4108;03 standard, min. 50 cm²/lm. This solution ensures an appropriate pressure difference that forces increased airflow beneath the roof covering.
2. Ensure tightness – serving as a barrier against drifting snow and fine rain blown under the ridge flashing (the so-called ridge cap).
3. Serve as a load-bearing element for mounting the ridge flashing – the strip should be mounted to the roof covering using stitch screws on both sides of the roof slope in a straight line. The ridge flashing should be mounted using the same screws (stitch screws) in a color matched to the roof covering. It is also recommended to use ridge tapes with mesh to ensure the highest level of protection regarding tightness, especially in the case of hips.

Under-ridge strips application table

The Blachy Pruszyński offer includes 3 types of under-ridge strips – Standard, TP-26 SUPER, and for flat roof tiles. The first one is applied to PD510 standing seam panels, KARO panels, and single-module flat roof tiles. The second one is designed for the TP-26 SUPER trapezoidal sheet – its design allows for installation without the need to cut the strip at the ribs of the trapezoid, and its width corresponds to the width of the sheet. The third option is the under-ridge strip for flat roof tiles – VERONA, PŁASKA, PŁASKA PLUS, and REGLE.

VENTILATION FLASHINGS

VENTILATION FLASHINGS play an extremely important role in ensuring the long-term and trouble-free use of the roof. They are responsible for the correct ventilation of the roof slope, i.e., the free flow of air under the covering, thanks to which the covering naturally gets rid of moisture that accumulates on the inner side of the covering and, as a result of the condensation phenomenon, turns into water and moisture. In the long term, this moisture causes irreversible damage both to the roof framing and can also cause damage to the covering itself.

Under-ridge strip for TP26 SUPER

The under-ridge strip for TP-26 SUPER is a ventilation flashing designed for use exclusively with the TP-26 SUPER trapezoidal sheet. Its specially designed construction ensures a perfect fit, tightness, and functionality for roof slope ventilation. It serves as a key load-bearing element for mounting the ridge, which is installed precisely on the under-ridge strip (also known as the under-ridge bar). Its main task is to ensure effective ventilation within the ridge area, which efficiently protects the roof from moisture accumulation and supports the long-term durability of the entire structure. Thanks to special ventilation openings, it enables free airflow, allowing water vapor to be evacuated from beneath the roof covering. The use of a dedicated strip simplifies the installation process, eliminating the need for bending, cutting sheet metal, or using additional ridge fillers.

NOTE: The strip is available in a length of 1.109 m, which corresponds to the width of the TP-26 SUPER sheet, and is designed for installation in a “one sheet – one strip” system. Thanks to this solution, the roof gains optimal ventilation, durability, and reliability, making the under-ridge strip an indispensable element of a professional roof covering system.
